This is something that should be the case all during your time in the home, not just when you make the decision to sell it. Your comfort and safety should never be a relative matter. However, when you do decide to get started on the selling process, you should start well in advance of contacting your local real estate office. There is no point in cramming all of your renovation work into too little of a space.

The first thing you need to do is make a list of the areas in your home that require your attention. For example, if the sinks and faucets in your bathroom are beginning to rust or wear out, it's a good idea to replace them. If the wallpaper or tiles in your kitchen are a bit old fashioned, why not replace them with a much newer and fresher style? These are the kinds of routine renovations that won't put a huge dent in your operating budget.
